During the renovation, Winn-Dixie contacted the St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation (SBEDF) to provide various data points about St. Bernard as they neared the completion of the project to evaluate the current state of the market.

"Quality of life is a core part of our mission," said Andrew Jacques, executive director of SBEDF. "We're excited about Winn-Dixie's investment in our parish and the improvements our residents can enjoy thanks to this new investment by Southeastern Grocers."

Winn-Dixie's remodeling project is the second investment of 2016 in grocery stores in St. Bernard. In January, SBEDF welcomed a new Walmart Neighborhood Market to Meraux, adding 95 jobs to the economy.
