Small Business Programming
SBEDF’s in-house small business programming includes Grow St. Bernard, our annual 6-part business education series, which covers everything from company culture to QuickBooks training, and Startup St. Bernard, a Shark Tank-style pitch competition that boasts the largest prize package in the region. Grow St. Bernard
Powered by SBEDF and the St. Bernard Chamber of Commerce, Grow St. Bernard offers access to education on current trends and best practices for business operations. The program targets professionals across the region and features presentations and panel discussions lead by esteemed leaders of the business community. Grow St. Bernard is low-cost and affords business owners and professionals the opportunity to build relationships with like-minded, motivated individuals.
Startup St. Bernard
Startup St. Bernard, presented by the Meraux Foundation and the SBEDF, is an annual startup business challenge. Entrepreneurs are invited to apply for a chance to pitch their business to a panel of judges in St. Bernard Parish for over $100,000 in prizes. The competition serves to not only equip a local business to expand their operations in St. Bernard, but also improves the entrepreneur ecosystem and markets the parish as the place to start a business in Greater New Orleans.
