SBA Louisiana Presents Small Business Workshop in St. Bernard Parish
CHALMETTE – The Louisiana District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Louisiana Small Business Development Center of Greater New Orleans (LSBDC) will be presenting a free workshop for small business owners and the community on Thursday, November 6. The workshop will be hosted by the St. Bernard Chamber of Commerce and the St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation and will feature Melissa Daigrepont, Economic Development and Public Information Officer for SBA Louisiana, and Dr. Michael P. Cusack, Senior Business Consultant with LSBDC, presenting information on a variety of programs available to small business owners in all phases of development.
The workshop will cover SBA’s government contracting certification programs including the 8(a) business development program, women-owned, veteran and service-disabled veteran-owned, and HUBZone small business certification programs. Information on SBA loan programs and disaster assistance for small business will also be presented. All participants will receive information on SBA’s resource partner network, including business counseling services provided by the LSBDC, as well as a copy of the Louisiana Small Business Resource Guide. A question and answer session will follow the workshop, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the second floor boardroom of the St. Bernard Port, Harbor & Terminal Building located at 100 Port Boulevard in Chalmette.
