SBEDF will work alongside the parish in joining the ranks of 45 other Louisiana municipalities that have completed the program.

St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation is proud to announce the groundbreaking of ASR Group’s new warehouse space at the St. Bernard Port, Harbor, & Terminal District's Chalmette Terminal. The new $4 million facility, located at 521 Bonita Dr., will serve as storage space for ASR Group’s Domino Sugar factory in Arabi.

Highlighted parish-wide wins include the announcement of the Port of New Orleans’ $1.5b expansion into St. Bernard Parish, groundbreaking of construction on ASR Group/Domino Sugar’s new storage facility, guiding the community through Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), and continuing programs, etc.

The U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Economic Analysis and The Advocate have reported that St. Bernard’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth from 2016-2019 ranks 2nd amongst all Parishes in Louisiana, rising 42% and over $273 Million. GDP, defined as the total value of all goods and services produced in a market, is a key performance indicator of an economy’s health and outlook.

St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation (SBEDF) is excited to announce its official partnership with Shop Local Nola, the largest directory for verified, locally owned businesses in the Greater New Orleans area. SBEDF is joining other chambers and economic development organizations in the region in an effort to encourage consumers to support local businesses.

The federal New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) program received a 5-year, $25 billion extension as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021. While much of the attention around this bill (rightfully) focused on the COVID-19 stimulus package, the NMTC extension is significant for impact development over the next 5 years and deserves recognition. The extension is the largest in the program’s history, surpassing the $17.5 billion extension authorized in 2015.

Today, Gov. John Bel Edwards announced The Ranch Film Studios in St. Bernard Parish will expand its film production operations under Louisiana’s Entertainment Job Creation Program. Founded in 2014, The Ranch Film Studios provides production services, facilities, offices and sound stages for motion picture production.
