The new $4 million facility, located at 521 Bonita Dr., will serve as storage space for ASR Group’s Domino Sugar factory in Arabi.

St. Bernard Parish Leading Louisiana’s GDP Growth; Up 42% from ‘16 to ‘19
The U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Economic Analysis and The Advocate have reported that St. Bernard’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth from 2016-2019 ranks 2nd amongst all Parishes in Louisiana, rising 42% and over $273 Million. GDP, defined as the total value of all goods and services produced in a market, is a key performance indicator of an economy’s health and outlook.

New Markets Tax Credit Program Receives 5-year, $25B Extension
The federal New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) program received a 5-year, $25 billion extension as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021. While much of the attention around this bill (rightfully) focused on the COVID-19 stimulus package, the NMTC extension is significant for impact development over the next 5 years and deserves recognition. The extension is the largest in the program’s history, surpassing the $17.5 billion extension authorized in 2015.
Port of New Orleans Set to Acquire St. Bernard Property for Potential New Container Terminal
The St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation is pleased to announce that the Commissioners of the Board for both the St. Bernard Port Harbor and Terminal District and Port of New Orleans have both reached an agreement and unanimously voted to approve the respective sale and purchase of property in Violet, LA for a potential new container terminal.

Today, Gov. John Bel Edwards announced The Ranch Film Studios in St. Bernard Parish will expand its film production operations under Louisiana’s Entertainment Job Creation Program. Founded in 2014, The Ranch Film Studios provides production services, facilities, offices and sound stages for motion picture production.
